Privacy Policy & Terms of Use
1. Service Description
My Sweet Pomodoro is a productivity app based on the Pomodoro technique, offered as a web and Android application. The app helps users manage their focus and break time, with visual customization and background music features. For the technique in detail, see our Pomodoro method guide.
2. Required Permissions
2.1 Audio
- Music playback: the app uses the Audius API to find and play background lo-fi tracks.
- Volume control: allows adjusting or muting the music volume.
- Ringtone: plays a completion sound at the end of each focus session (only when the timer reaches zero automatically).
2.2 Local Storage (localStorage)
The app stores locally on the device:
- User preferences: selected theme (light/red/blue), display mode (gallery/animated), timer settings (focus time, breaks, cycles).
- Ongoing session: not stored — the current step and the remaining time live only in the app's memory, so reloading the page or reopening the app always starts over at the preparation step.
- Music preferences: volume and current track.
- Cached profile: name, e-mail and photo of the authenticated user (for offline display). No credentials or tokens are stored.
- Checklist: items created by the user.
2.3 Internet Access
- Required to fetch music tracks from Audius.
- Required to load images and static resources.
- Required for Google authentication and syncing settings with the backend.
3. Data Collected
3.1 Data Collected on Login
When signing in with Google, the app backend stores:
- Google identifier (googleId): used as the unique account identifier.
- Name: displayed in the interface.
- E-mail: account identification.
- Profile photo URL: displayed in the interface.
3.2 User Settings
For authenticated users, the backend stores the synced preferences:
- Timer settings (focus, break and cycle times).
- Theme and display mode.
- Music volume.
- Checklist items.
- Preferred language.
3.3 Data Not Collected
- Geographic location.
- Device information.
3.4 Collection Subject to Consent
User navigation and interaction data is collected only after your consent: on the web, through the app's cookie banner; on Android, through Google's consent form (UMP). This includes error and performance monitoring (Datadog RUM, with session replay for a subset of users and typed fields masked), usage analytics (GA4 via Google Tag Manager, with anonymized statistics for page views, logins and completed cycles) and advertising services (Google AdSense on the web, Google AdMob on Android). You can revoke consent at any time under "Cookie preferences" in the settings; without consent, none of these services is loaded. The only cookie loaded without consent is the application session cookie (HTTP-only, used for authentication).
4. Account Deletion
You can delete your account at any time in the app settings ("Delete account" option), with confirmation. On the web, go to https://mysweetpomodoro.com.br, sign in with your Google account and use the "Delete account" option in the settings modal. Upon deletion:
- Your session is immediately terminated on all devices.
- The account is marked as deleted and its data is no longer accessible through the app.
- If you sign in again with the same Google account, a new clean account is created with default settings.
5. Third-Party Services
5.1 Audius API
- The app uses the public Audius API to find lo-fi music.
- The API is accessed directly from the user's browser.
- No personal data is sent to Audius.
- Documentation: https://docs.audius.org/
5.2 Google Identity Services
- Sign-in is performed via Google Identity Services (OAuth 2.0 / ID token).
- The app receives from Google only the basic profile (name, e-mail, photo and identifier).
- The ID token is validated by the backend and is not stored or used as a session; the application session is its own HTTP-only cookie.
- Acceptance of these terms is required before signing in.
5.3 Application Backend
- Synced settings and the basic profile are stored on the application server, associated exclusively with your account.
- The client never sends arbitrary identifiers; the user is always derived from the session.
5.4 Google AdSense, Google AdMob and monitoring
- The web version may display ads via Google AdSense; the Android version may display ads via Google AdMob (banner and interstitials).
- The web version may monitor errors via Datadog; on Android, the same monitoring applies inside the app.
- The web version may collect anonymized usage analytics (GA4 via Google Tag Manager).
- All these services are loaded only after explicit consent (cookie banner on web, Google's UMP form on Android).
- Google may use cookies and identifiers to display and personalize ads, per Google policies (https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads).
- You can revoke consent at any time under "Cookie preferences" in the app settings and disable ad personalization in your Google Account settings.
